New Footwear

February 21, 2018

So, as some of you may know we are now proud stockists of the YDA footwear from Optima/ Prestige Health.

These trainers and shoes are marketed as 'Therapeutic Footwear'.

So we could give our honest opinions on them, 3 months ago we purchased a pair each to wear and see what benefits they actually have first hand.

We have found:

POSITIVES

They are extremely light weight and it actually feels more like you are wearing slippers than a shoe/trainer.

Extremely supportive and comfotrable

Very comfortable to run in at the gym

Very roomy and well designed for the wider foot type

Suitable for diabetics

Good soles with a good grip

Breathable material and do not make your feet sweat

Different laces - you get a normal pair of laces but also a pair designed to help people who find it difficult to grip or tie laces e.g arthritis in hands/ sided weakness due to stroke etc

NEGATIVES

Not water proof

Quite costly at £125 a pair.  However, personally we find them excellent value for money compared to other footwear.

So basically, from a podiatrists perspective, we find this footwear excellent.  We highly recommend them and enjoy stocking them.

They can be purchased from our clinic or online via our online shop. Sizing is quite generous and we recommend a size smaller than you usually take.  Feel free to pop in during opening times and try a pair on to see the comfort for yourself.
